Sign up for Reel Week Competition Now (Nov 2-9th)
Reel Week is a filmmaking challenge held each fall, usually at the start of November. Student filmmakers are given a genre, a required prop, and a required line of dialogue. Then the clock starts.
You have one week to write, shoot, edit, and submit a film under 5 minutes. Shoot your footage, use the school's editing computers throughout the week, and somehow turn it all into a coherent movie before the deadline arrives.
Entry fees? None. We want to give every local filmmaker a chance to showcase their work on the big screen.Â
Your film must:
Be under 5 minutes
Use the assigned genre
Include the required prop
Include the required line of dialogue
Be original student work
Be submitted by the deadline
The requirements are intentionally simple. The solutions are not.
You bring the idea. We bring the constraints. You have seven days. Go make a movie.
