Submissions open here in November: https://filmfreeway.com/SanJoaquinStudentFilmFestival-WestonRanch
In May 2027, the San Joaquin Student Film Festival returns to Weston Ranch High School for another evening of student-made films, questionable creative decisions, and the very particular terror of watching your work on a giant screen while sitting among the people watching it.
The festival is open to K–12 and college filmmakers in San Joaquin County and any county that touches it. Submit a short film you've made within the past two years—fiction, documentary, animation, music video, experimental film, comedy, horror, or something that defies all known categories.
Selected films will be screened in front of a live audience of students, families, teachers, filmmakers, and members of the community.
Because making a film is only half the experience.
The other half is sitting in a dark theater while an audience laughs, gasps, cringes, or goes completely silent because of something you made.
That's the part we're after.
Make something. Submit it. Put it on the big screen.
